The Self-Love Journal Prompts Generator is our gentle little app for generating journal prompts for self-love.
We took an approach we think you’ll like – adapting techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) to create a relatively small collection of self-compassionate journal prompts that can be applied to many situations where you feel your self-love challenged.
- Feeling angry with yourself? Click the “Get Prompts” button before you write.
- Feeling defeated? Click the “Get Prompts” button before you write.
- Hating on your body? Click the “Get Prompts” button before you write.
And then re-frame your feelings with the prompt you get.
You might get this…
“Before you write, tell yourself ‘I love you and don’t want you to suffer.'”
… or one of 100 other self-love prompts.
Your task, if you decide to follow the prompt, is to re-frame whatever way you’re feeling in a more self-compassionate, more deeply resourceful way. Do you journal like this every single time? Only if you want to. But the app will be here when you do.
Our main suggestion in using the app is to click thoughtfully, staying a while with the first prompt you get to see if it offers any value. If not, then click again. Like many other tasks that call for self-reflection, working for speed is apt to be far less useful than careful introspection.
